Why should grapes be grown on a slope?
- Viktor Kronstedt (MS 1) is detailing the reasons for this in his work! So ask him about!
- Did you know that the Ancient Greeks had figured this out? Find out more from Anna Schwarzenbach (MS 1)!
How can we measure slope?
- Franziska Ditzer (MS 1) is detailing the steps she used along with her partners Divya Das and Annabelle Hermann to measure the slope of our terraces. In short, the girls used a plank of wood, a leveler, and a tape measure to find the "Rise" (the vertical interval, or the distance the wooden plank is from the ground once it is completely level) and the "Run" (the horizontal interval or the length of the wooden plank). The formula to find out the grade of the slope is as follows :
Keep this for formula & technique in mind for the next ski trip when you want to brag about the grade of slope you went down!
